PROJECT DESCRIPTION

After completing a major bushland management and creek line maintenance project along Gwawley Creek in 2014, Southern Habitat was engaged to complete creek bank rectification and stabilisation works behind Sylvania High School in late 2015.

OUR WORKS

  • Creation of diversion swale from school fence to embankment.
  • Re-profiling of the embankment to achieve a sub-grade cross-sectional area
  • Installation of erosion control measures to prevent rubbish from entering creek
  • Supply and Installation of A34 bidim blanket
  • Supply and Installation of Geo-web cells and anchoring to lock cells into slope
  • Filling of cells with site soil
  • Supply and Installation of jute-matting blanket cover
  • Revegetation in and around jute mat with 100 tubestock units
  • Rock armouring to embankment using 6 tonnes of sandstone rock
  • Supply and install Turf over and either side of diversion swale
  • Reinstatement of the site
